Boys’ and Girls’ Badminton had a near-perfect season, going 14-0 in league and a 19-1 overall. Cerritos was able to “bagel” (win 21-0 in a game) against Whitney, Gahr, and Loara but unfortunately lost to undefeated Diamond Bar in CIF.
Track also made a big presence in league, winning every meet. All levels of the events were swept by Cerritos and were able to enter CIF. Justin Kim had an incredible performance running a 11.11 for the 100m dash.
Boys’ Golf had a number of great wins, with a 15-5 overall record in league. Captains Ryan Yamachika and Sean Song were team leaders, with 5 out of 6 members of the 605 all stars coming from Cerritos. Cerritos placed 7th out of 21 in CIF.
The Boys’ Volleyball team made school history by not dropping a single set in league for three straight years. Even after the league transition to the 605 League, the boys were able to keep their composure. The Boys were ranked in top 200 nationally at one point and they finished the season with a 27-14 record.
The Lady Dons were able to clinch a league title and finish the season with a 24-4 record. Girls’ Volleyball made its mark in school history by being able to go undefeated in the regular season before eventually ending the season with an unfortunate loss to St. Anthony.
The Boys’ Basketball team finished the season with the first league title in over 20 years. With the transition to the 605 league, the Cerritos Dons really took over, winning league and advancing to the second round of CIF. The Dons finished the season with a 17-12 record.
